GEOSTORM : Control the Weather, Control the World!

I admit, I am a big fan of movies featuring natural or induced worldwide catastrophes. Climate related movies appeal to me as I would like to see how people make decisions when everything looks impossible especially with the impending doom drawing near. Would people set aside their moral values in order to survive? Or would they stick to what is right whatever the odds?
I got excited when I saw the trailer of Geostorm for the first time and I got to see it today. I honestly was a bit disappointed with how the movie went as I was looking for real human reactions in the face of a storm rather than a geo-political conspiracy to hold on to power. It would be great if we can control the weather for the greater good but what we can't control are the bad intentions of some just to get the upper hand.
I expected that the movie would draw sympathetic emotions from me especially after the storms passed and how survivors would get back up to build a better future but sadly the emotions I felt were not strong enough for me to feel satisfied. I've been through natural storms and devastation and I know how it feels to survive one, so maybe I just expected too much. The ladies in film gave comedic relief which is very entertaining that I could be sure of.
If you had seen the movie, let me know what you think on the comments section as well. Cheers!
