Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipno as per their Facebook page is "A nationwide week-long celebration where all movie theaters will exclusively screen Filipino films in line with the Buwan ng Wika. This festive event is organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines in partnership with theaters nationwide and will run from August 16-22, 2017."

This year the festival will screen 12 full length films of different genres. Some of them were already screened outside the Philippines and some already bagged international awards. The Festival aims to "aims to provide a platform where Filipino films can connect to the wider Filipino audience through its nationwide release and create a venue for dialogue between the Filipino audience and film producers."  For more information on the participating films, you can visit PPP's facebook page. Below are the movies included on this year's festival:

• 100 Tula Para Kay Stella by Jason Paul Laxamana
• Ang Manananggal sa Unit 23B by Prime Crisologo Cruz
• AWOL movie by Enzo Williams
• Bar Boys by Kip Oebanda
• BIRDSHOT by Mikhail Red
• HAMOG by Ralston Jover
• Paglipay - Crossing by Zig Dulay
• Patay na si Hesus - Movie by Victor Kaiba Villanueva
• Pauwi Na by Paolo Villaluna
• Salvage by Sherad Anthony Sanchez
• Star na si Van Damme Stallone by Randolph Longjas
• Triptiko by Miguel Franco Michelena

All of the films are quite interesting and intriguing at the same time that I would watch all the movies if I have the chance as each movie presents a different story that somehow reflects the life and struggles of ordinary Filipinos. I just hope all movie theaters will show all the movies. What movie are you looking forward to watch on this year's roster? Kindly comment your thoughts on the comments section below.
