AWOL | An Exhilarating Search for Vengeance and Justice
The movie gives us a glimpse of what our soldiers sacrifice to be of service to the country. It describes how strong the brotherhood between soldiers are as tight as family ties and how they keep their vows to serve and protect the country and the people. It is one thrilling and action-packed film that is worthy to be seen on screen.
Not sure if it was just me or because Gerald Anderson was top-billing the movie but it almost have a little "On The Job" vibe to it. There were a lot of shaky camera scenes that I guess add up to whole movies aesthetics. Plus, there was Reema Chanco-Waldie who was one bad-ass girl in the movie. The scene with Bembol Roco is something worth watching, in my opinion, as it reflects how word wars are in real life. I also liked that they had an after credit scene which brought out the Marvel fanboy in me. Anyway, this movie is R-16 so only persons above 16 years old of age will be allowed in the cinema.
Would you do anything to keep your family safe? Will you bend your principles in order to seek vengeance with your own hands? Will there be a safe place in a world full of ill-minded people? This were the questions playing out on my mind while watching the movie. I hope we have more action films like this in the future.
